I don't know is it a bug or what, but is this intentional? I don't want to have the impression that screen is still capturing my camera even after i leave the meeting.
my spec is as follow
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)
2.5 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

We've just released v4.0 (https://screen.canny.io/changelog/screen-v40) — in which this issue has been fixed.

This happens for me if I:
* Open screen without joining a meeting
* Open settings
* Media settings
* -> here it shows my camera and the green light turns on
* Close the app window
I suppose the app window is still streaming the camera even though it is closed.

That seems no fun.

This happened to mew a few times and every time, I can't get the Electron Dev Tools to open up, I'm on Mac OS.

I had this happen yesterday with version 1.2.7 on Linux (Debian Bullseye). Worse than the original report, I thought I had quit Screen. There was no open window or tray icon visible. The only way I knew it was screen was by using
lsof
to see what had the camera device open.Launching the app it said I was still in a meeting, which I had left over four hours earlier ... but still didn't show the meeting UI, only the main app window.
Unfortunately I didn't see this post before I killed the app, so I didn't get a chance to capture the logs mentioned.

Please rest assured that if/when this happens, it’s likely a JavaScript error that’s caused the code path to stop prior to the camera device being disengaged. It’s a bug we need to fix asap but has been impossible for us to reproduce in our testing.
If you do see this error, please do this:
- From the main window, press Ctrl-Shift-I (Windows/Linux) or Cmd-Opt-I (Mac) to open up Electron Dev Tools
- Switch to the Console tab
- Copy/paste the logs (it should include an error) and paste that in an email to us at team@screen.so so we can take a look
Identifying where the issue is will help us solidify the code around it to solve this issue.

Not to disregard this important bug, but ......There are various malware products out there that will open the mic/camera without your knowledge (no indicator light), so adding a product like ProtectStar's CameraGuard (there are a bunch of them out there) to completely lock out the camera at your request, is a good idea, and will override any program's attempts to control the camera.

I opened my machine in to start my day and saw the camera light on. Opened Photobooth to see if that would cause it to stop after quitting, no dice.
Realized that I installed Screen the previous day so quit the app altogether.
Green light out.

Just had this, very concerning to see that green light when I've got nothing using the camera!
