Here’s what you can expect:
  • No more “X can’t hear Y” issues
  • No more Bluetooth / audio device selection issues
  • No more spinning black video frames in group meetings
  • No more camera light randomly turning on
  • Screen sharing with higher quality & frame rate in both 1:1 and group meetings
  • Faster meeting connection time
  • Lower CPU usage (default)
  • Unlock full (unthrottled) performance by switching off "Reduce power on user inactivity"
  • All around performance, reliability & quality improvements
Let us know if you encounter any issues. If you’re unable to use the new infrastructure for any reason, you can always switch back to the old infrastructure via Settings > Connection Provider, and switch

Screen v2.1
new
July 7th, 2020
CPU usage has gotten a complete overhaul. You should now see far lower CPU usage when screen sharing, without a noticeable performance drop.
Additionally, if you want to remove CPU throttling and get all the raw power of your computer, disable the new
Reduce power on user inactivity
option from within Settings, and you'll get full frame rate screen sharing (useful if you're screen sharing a video, for instance).
Scrolling has been improved (particularly with Windows and Linux).
Two major causes of frozen screen sharing have also been fixed.
Screen v2.0
new
June 26th, 2020
The most visible feature is Gallery / Brady-Bunch / Grid / Tile view, along with the ability to hide anyone’s video (including your own) from the mini-panel.
Additionally, screen shares should be faster on all platforms, on both 1:1 and group meetings.
Other fixes:
  • Linux duplicate keyboard issues should be fixed
  • CPU usage should be reduced when sharing a large screen to guests with smaller screens (many more CPU improvements will be coming next)
  • The call window should show/hide in a more predictable way

Screen v1.2 (Tuesday, May 19th, 2020)
Since we launched our public beta, our top priority has been on the core product experience, namely:
  • Everyone should be able to see and hear each other clearly, and screen share quality should be better than any other product out there
  • For many users, this wasn't the case. For them, video quality was blurry, text was sometimes unreadable, and there was a lot of lag.
After a lot of work, we believe we’ve
resolved
these issues in Screen v1.2
Here’s what the new update includes:
  1. Revamped bitrate management that should fix video quality issues in all network environments
  2. CPU throttling on all platforms to reduce processor & battery drain when screen sharing
  3. Improvements to 3+ participant screen sharing (as a result of #1)
  4. Camera streams should now be smooth, and high quality
  5. Screen shares should be fast and crisp, even with high resolution (aka Retina/HiDPI mode) turned on
If you’ve faced any issues with Screen so far, please try the app again. We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
Screen v1.1
new

We’ve also improved how we manage the transition from 2<>3 participants. It should now be a lot smoother, with a shorter switchover time.
