Both me and co-workers have gotten stuck in drawing mode: we can't click the mode switcher; we end up just drawing on it.

Michael Hollander: given that this issue is marked complete and is more than a year old, I've created a new bug here: https://screen.canny.io/bugs/p/linux-mouse-stuck-in-shared-screen

We've updated Screen to v3 today, which should fix most of the known issues in the previous v2 builds. Please update to v3 via Settings, and if you see this issue again, please create a new post.

We're still seeing this problem intermittently, running the latest version on Windows 10.

We've had similar issues with drawing mode. It seems to be one of the triggers for having other viewers (or even the host) lose control of their keyboard/mouse.

We just released an update that should fix this. It has a few fixes:
1) The shortcut now works reliably in cases where it didn’t before
2) The minipanel shows what the shortcut is when you’re in draw mode
3) The button click should work to restore control instead of drawing on top of it
Let us know if you have any issues. Thanks for your patience, and for all the details you gave, which were critical in helping us fix the issues above!

J Sherwani (Pop Team): Great news. How can I be sure that I'm on the version that has this fix? Is there a changelog somewhere that I can reference? Thanks again!
J Sherwani (Pop Team)
Jeff Cohen: As long as you’re on the latest version, you’re good. You can check to make sure by going to Settings — if there’s no update available, you’re on the latest. We don’t have a changelog, but will likely get to adding that soon.

Catalina does this, but a ctrl-opt-cmd will get you out of draw mode immediately

This happens to me on MacOS Catalina, but only when I put the video thumbnail window onto my second monitor (not the screen that I'm sharing, but the other screen). In this setup, I can always switch to pencil mode, and then I can never switch back to control mode. As a workaround, I can drag the video thumbnail window onto my other monitor and then the button works again.

I've seen it with both parties on macOS Catalina.
