Could you elaborate on this? Specifically:
1) What is the Finder Hide function, and how is it invoked?
2) What is the expected outcome, and what does Screen do?

J Sherwani (Pop Team): HIDE is an OS level command under the Application menu, next to the Apple menu. It allows you to hide all windows other than the ones for that app (hide others), or hide THAT app, or show all,. It can also be invoked using CMD-H. Been that way since the early days of OS X.
You can invoke almost any command while CMD-Tab through open applications. So CMD-TAB to a given app, and while that app is highlighted, press CMD-H, and all windows for that app, are now hidden.
MacOS, prior to OS X, had a similar function, so this goes back well over 15 years.

J Sherwani (Pop Team): While SCREEN is active, CMD-H is NOT. You cannot hide application windows for other apps.
